Ti ps for Exercising in the Summer Heat
- Stay hydrated! Drink plenty of fluids (especially water) before, during and after physical activity.
- Dress in lightweight, light-colored clothing to cool you down when you workout. Fabrics like cotton and linen are breathable and will keep you cool.
- Exercise in the mornings or evenings when the sun is lower and the air is a bit cooler.
- Ease into heavy exercise during the summer by gradually exercising more when your body gets used to the heat.
- Take to the water. Swimming and water aerobics are excellent ways to get your cardio exercise in.
