- Eat more fruit. Fruit is not only in season this time of year, but it contains vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that are beneficial to your overall health.
- Try iced green tea instead of soda or sweet tea. It’s packed with antioxidants and can reduce your risk of health complications such as diabetes, heart disease and stroke.
- Make a salad with leafy greens such as spinach, lettuce, arugula and more. They are all in season during the spring and summer.
- Have a helping of beans. Beans and legumes like black beans, black-eyed peas, kidney beans, lentils and soybeans are good sources of antioxidants, B vitamins, calcium, iron, potassium and protein.
- Add fruits and vegetables to your water to give it a flavor boost and increase your mineral intake at the same time.
