During a supervised visit at the doctor's, you will swallow a capsule, which releases a balloon once it reaches your stomach. Your doctor then inflates the balloon under fluoroscopy using X-ray guidance. A second balloon is placed in two weeks and a third and final balloon is placed in one to two months. After six months, all three balloons are removed under conscious sedation during a brief endoscopic procedure.
